A Bad Idea
People often asked me how I wrote jokes when I did stand-up comedy.
“I write a lot of bad jokes until I find one that’s not.” That is the answer.
Creativity is a numbers game.
It demands consistency and patience. It requires the courage to show up and start over again and again and again.
Creativity requires you to try something that may not work, which forces us to grow.
When was the last time you pitched a bad idea to a client? Made a stretch goal with your spouse? Suggested something bold to a friend?
Playing it safe and staying comfortable won’t lead to growth. And bad ideas lead to better ones.
