Doom, Gloom, and Choices
Northeast Ohio is a cloudy place.
A few years back, I went to Los Angeles for the first time and was blown away by the sunny weather.
When I got back to Ohio, it took time to settle back into the doom and gloom.
I looked out my office window my first day back and thought, “If only that cloud would move, I’d have a better day.”
I then realized how ridiculous it is to put my happiness on a cloud, and ultimately anything outside my control.
I’ve never had a bad day since. Bad things have happened, such as losing friends, family, and dangerous car accidents, but I haven’t had a bad day because I’ve chosen to have good ones.
You don’t have to choose doom when things don’t seem so bright.
