My First Marathon

I hate running, but feeling accomplished at the end of a run slightly outweighs my disdain for running in the first place.

After my first marathon in May, my cousin asked how it went:

I learned a lot in a compressed amount of time. I realized running is a practice of accepting discomfort and moving forward despite it.

It’s the practice of not giving up while moving forward.

That practice leeks into other aspects of life. The practice of not giving up on that project, on that relationship, or that squeaky door in your house that doesn’t shut right.

Moving forward, one foot at a time, means more than just running.
